Every lamp shade is hand-crafted in our small Claremont studio in America. We design and 3D-print each piece in-house from plant-based PLA bioplastic — the finishing touch for your home, made with care and time.

What is your Roomberry Lampshade made of?

Your lampshade is 3D-printed from PLA (polylactic acid) — a plant-based bioplastic derived from corn starch. Unlike petroleum-based plastics, PLA has a significantly smaller carbon footprint and is industrially compostable. Better for your home, better for the planet.

Important: Heat & Bulb Compatibility

PLA is heat-sensitive — it softens above ~140°F (60°C). To keep your lampshade in perfect shape, use a warm-white LED bulb only:

• ✅ LED — any wattage up to 60W-equivalent (~9W actual draw). LEDs run cool and are completely safe.
• ⚠️ Halogen or Incandescent — max 40W, and only if the bulb sits at least 2" (5 cm) below the inner cap. These get hot quickly.
• ❌ NEVER use 60W+ incandescent or 50W+ halogen bulbs. They will warp the shade.

Recommended: any 2700K warm-white LED, max 60W-equivalent. Energy-efficient, cool to the touch, looks beautiful, lasts ~25,000 hours.

Setup: hardwire to your ceiling junction box (electrician recommended) OR use the cord-and-plug version to plug into a standard outlet. Setup time: 10–30 minutes depending on mount style.

If you picked "Without light fixture":

• 1× designer lampshade in your chosen color + size
• Gift-ready plant-based packaging
• No cord, no socket, no bulb

Setup: screw the shade onto your existing E26 pendant cord, ceiling fitting, or table-lamp socket. A Phillips screwdriver is all you need.

Does the Ripple Pleated Pendant come with a light fixture, or just the shade?

You choose at checkout. Pick "With E26 light fixture" for the complete plug-and-hang set (cord, socket, hardware included). Pick "Without light fixture" if you already have a pendant cord or want to mount the shade onto an existing table-lamp socket.

What bulb should I use? Is PLA bioplastic safe with light bulbs?

Use a warm-white LED bulb, max 60W-equivalent (~9W actual). LEDs run cool and are completely safe for our PLA shade. AVOID incandescent or halogen bulbs above 40W — they generate too much heat and can warp the shade. Modern LED is the gold standard for any PLA lampshade.

How do I install the Ripple Pleated Pendant?

If you ordered with the E26 fixture: the cord-and-socket set ships ready to use — either hardwire to your ceiling junction box (electrician recommended) or use as a plug-in pendant. If you ordered shade-only: screw onto your existing E26 pendant cord or table-lamp socket. Total install time: 5–30 minutes depending on mount style.

What's the "wavy ripple" texture about?

Our Ripple Pleated Pendant lampshade has a 3D-printed sculpted texture that diffuses light in a unique pattern across your walls and ceiling. The shadow play changes throughout the evening — softer at low brightness, more dramatic when fully lit. It's lighting that doubles as wall art.

Pick the color that fits your space. White is the cottage / Scandi standard, Grey leans modern / industrial, Orange brings warmth + boho energy. All colors diffuse a warm honey-glow when paired with a warm-white LED bulb.
